Modem issue on Galaxy S

Hi,
I have an I9000 and the modem does not seem to work. The Installation-Wiki-Page says that one should install CyanogenMod prior to Replicant to solve possible modem issues. Unfortunatly, the installation of CM did not work. Thus, I've installed Replicant directly. On my device, /dev/block/bml12 is a symlink to /radio/modem.bin. But the file /radio/modem.bin does not exist.
How can this be fixed?

I think the modem.bin file is in the CyanogenMod zip. You can probably put it somewhere else and symlink. However, there must be a reason why CM installation fails and why /radio doesn't exist (or maybe it does, but doesn't have the file in there?). Did you flash the correct pit file prior to trying CyanogenMod?
