Why doesn't the system recognize my fonts?

I installed three new fonts in twelve files by copying them to /system/fonts, and rebooted the phone. So how come the HTML viewer doesn't use the fonts? When I open the attached HTML file, I get three pre-installed fonts.

I figured it out. You need to add the files in a parallel format to the other entries in /system/etc/system_fonts.XML.
